Historically, music has conveyed messages on an array of controversial topics (i.e. civil rights, the womens liberation movement, war, racism, etc.).  With this assignment, it is your task to compare and contrast a song written from the politically charged Vietnam War era with another song of your choosing (the second song should pertain to Freedom of Speech in one shape or form).

Journalism 120 "How to Start a Movement".

The following video was used in hopes of illustrating how media techniques (i.e. propaganda) gain momentum; it shows the initial incident/action, the reaction, the momentum it can build, and finally, how this initial event can gradually become common place.
The following sheet illustrates the different strategies used in the media in hopes of selling a product/idea, etc.
