The Youth Employment Fund (YEF) provides an entry point to long term employment for unemployed individuals between 18-29 years of age who require a work experience opportunity as identified through their employment action plan. By placing an individual with an employer, the youth may gain work experience and develop skills through basic workplace training, mentoring and coaching (from the employer). The Tuition Access Bursary (TAB) has been created through the Education and New Economy Fund to increase affordability and access for New Brunswick students to attend public post-secondary institutions in New Brunswick. TAB will provide an incentive for New Brunswick youth to stay and study in New Brunswick.

The bursary will provide upfront, non-repayable assistance for students with gross household incomes of $60,000 or less attending publicly funded college programs or undergraduate university programs in New Brunswick. Explore Summer Language Bursary Program - Grade 11&12 ONLY!

Are you looking for a spring or summer program to learn French? Do you want to discover another region of Canada and meet new people? Go Explore! Explore is a five-week intensive language-immersion program. You can take the program in the spring or summer, whichever you prefer. Participants in Explore receive a $2,200 bursary (taxable income) that covers tuition fees for the programs, instructional materials, meals and accommodations, workshops, and other mandatory activities. Discover another region of Canada while learning French. Enjoy five weeks of learning and adventure, friendship and discovery! Application deadline is February 28th, 2016!

Shad Valley

SHAD is a registered Canadian charity that empowers exceptional high school students – at a pivotal point in their education – to recognize their own capabilities and envision their extraordinary potential as tomorrow’s leaders and change makers. Applications for Shad should be in the Guidance Office by November 1st. The deadline to ensure priority consideration is November 30th. Students who apply and are chosen for an interview for placement with the Department of Education should be prepared to bring their Linking to the Future Portfolios to the interview.

Katimavik

Katimavik offers young Canadians an exciting experience that incorporates learning and volunteer involvement. It is the leading program of its kind in Canada. During their 9 months with Katimavik, participants ages 17 to 21 live in three regions of Canada. They are involved in exciting volunteer projects in each community.
