Posted: February 4, 2016

BHS Student Representative Council President Barry Riordon is headed to Toronto to interview as a finalist for the prestigious Loran Scholarship valued at $100,000. Barry was chosen as one of 80 finalists from a record 4,273 applications received this year.

Barry is extensively involved in school and community life. Barry held the position of SCR Vice-President before becoming President this year. He also maintains the position of President of his district 4H Club and has competed provincially and nationally in public speaking.  He plays on several BHS sports teams including varsity soccer, volleyball, track & field and is a star defenseman for the BHS hockey team.

We wish him the best of luck as he looks to become one of 30 young Canadians who will receive a Loran Scholarship.
