BHS Guidance office will be open on Thursday August 25 and Friday August 26 from 9:00am to 3:00pm each day.  Any student needing to register for classes or make changes to their schedule is encouraged to come in on these days.

Graduates of Bathurst High School celebrated their prom in style. The cafeteria was decorated to resemble Paris, France. You can see a gallery of the decorations as well as the prom red carpet event.

Today marks the last day of classes for students. Grade twelve students celebrated their last day as student of Bathurst High School. Next week students return to classes to write their final exams.

Bathurst High School held it's annual Activity Awards night this evening. During this event students are recognized for their dedication and hard work in athletics, the arts, clubs and groups. Pictured above are BHS's Major Award winners. They include Visual Artist of the Year Olivia Stymiest, Male Athlete of the Year Andrew Guignard, Unsung Hero and Phantom Pride Winner Rachael Burtt, Female Athlete of the Year Jillian Lavigne and Performing Artist of the Year Eric Borgela. Family of the Year (another major award) was awarded to the Riordon family.

During the month of May 15 students from BHS participated in the Annual Brunswick Mines Art Competition. This year the Bathurst Art Society chose Kevin Song as it's winner and he received a cheque of $100. This fall Kevin will be attending the Ontario College of Art and Design, a prestigious art school in down town Toronto. Well done Kevin!

The BHS Auto Club participated in the provincial High School Challenge at the Miramichi Dragway over the weekend. Aaron Ward picked up an award for "The Closest to 14 Seconds" down the track. Come join us this Sunday at the Old Post Office for an afternoon of great music. BHS Free the Children is hosting their second annual Coffee House. There wll be lots of local talent on hand to entertain. Baked goods will be on sale and free warm beverages will be served. Admission fee: $3 for students, $5 for adults and children get in free.

Join us at ESN from 10am-4pm on Saturday, May 28th for Buick's Drive For Your Students Event (in conjunction with Lounsbury Automotive). Come on over and take a test drive of a brand new Buick vehicle to support both BHS and ESN. For every test drive, Buick will donate $20 to our students. More test drives mean more money for student activities. There will also be a barbecue at the event. All profits from this barbecue will be donated to help the victims in Fort MacMurray, BC. Hope to see you there!

Last weekend seven BHS students traveled to Moncton to participate at the provincial level in the French Speaking Oratory Competition. Earlier this month Brianna Parent-Long, Kaylee Gauthier, Mary Walker, Carolyn Smith, Jason Theriault, Merissa Landry, Magela Van der Plujm, Rebecca Mott, Ben MacDonald, and Megan White were awarded top honours at the ASD-N district competition. Brianna, Kaylee, Mary, Carolyn, Magela, Rebecca and Merissa represented BHS in Moncton in their respective categories. Competition was tough, but two students returned home with third place finishes.
